Learn more about our Slitter Edge Trim Scrap Choppers:

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Scrap Chopper cuts the edge trim into small pieces and deposits them in a hopper for easy handling.  For more detail please clck on the "Step by Step Process" tab at the navigation bar above.

HOW DOES THE SCRAP CHOPPER IMPROVE SAFETY?

Scrap winders expose operators to sharp, fast-moving edges and tube scarf while requireing frequent handling and monitoring, puts production lines on hold to change out heavy awkward "scrap balls."  Manual handling of such scrap can be even more labor intensive and potentially hazardous exposing the operatior to sharp, edge trimmed scrap or hot, sharp tube scarf.  When sharp edge trim or tube scarf breaks it can whip around uncontrollably until it's caught by the operator and re-threaded into the scrap winder.  With the Slitter Edge Trim Line Scrap Chopper you now have a safer, more efficient way of handling slitter line trim and tube scarf at the point of generation while adding to your bottom line.

HOW SOON WILL I SEE A RETURN ON INVESTMENT?

Whether slitting continuous lengths of metal to size or finishing metal tubing, one brake on profitable output has been the limitations of traditional scrap handling for edge trim and tube scarf.  Our Slitter Line Scrap Chopper can save your plant labor hours and increase productivity.  Your return on investmemnt could be as fast as six months.

Scrap choppers can turn scrap bands into profits.  All recyclable materials are commoditities.

HOW DOES THE SCRAP CHOPPER IMPROVE PRODUCTIVITY?

In a plant's high-volume slitter line operation, the scrap winder can be a bottleneck.  Edge trim can often break and have to be re-threaded, causing line stoppage.  You might even be required to take apart the scrap winder to rethread it.  This takes time and can really do a number on your productivity.   Coordinated by a frequency drive that makes automatic adjustments, a stand accomodates matieral width while the chopper and conveyor match slitter line speed.

Reduced worker's compensation claims, reduced dumpster fees, reduced labor costs, more efficient housekeeping, and money for processed scrap - any way you look at it, scrap choppers can help you achieve your recycling and safety goals!
